Growing Character... Our Concern

At Red Bell Preschool in Plymouth, MI we believe children learn best in a fun, active, hands-on environment.  Relevant learning experiences, interactive teaching and active discovery are the most effective ways to foster a love of learning.  Our curriculum addresses age appropriate social-emotional and cognitive development.

About Us

Our Pre-School. Our Family. Our Community.

Red Bell Preschool was founded by the Hackney family in 1957 and has been owned and operated by them ever since. The school started out in a small farmhouse. A separate school building was built in 1967. The owner has always lived in the house attached to the school which gives him the ability to oversee the program and operation of the school.

FAQ’s

What is your enrollment process?

We enroll beginning in February for the following school year. Our Programs run with the Plymouth Canton Schools and begin the day after Labor Day. After you attend an open house or have an individual tour we will collect your enrollment form and $75 enrollment fee. This will save your spot for the following school year.

How do I schedule a tour?
Call us at 734-453-5520 to schedule. We offer tours Monday – Friday at 9:30am, 10:00am, or 10:30am.
Does my child need to be toilet trained?
Yes, all of our students must be toilet trained and able to take care of their toileting needs by themselves.
Is your school nut free?

Not at this time. We provide snacks to make sure nothing is processed with peanuts or tree nuts but children bring their own lunch which many include nut products. We take steps to ensure nut products do not come into contact with children with allergies.

Are your teachers CPR and First Aid trained?

Yes, all teachers and support staff hold current CPR and First Aid credentials.

What Our Families are Saying

Our son attended the Young 5’s program at Red Bell and loved every minute! All the staff here are caring and educated. He was cared for and nurtured throughout his day and never wanted to go at pick up time. We found the educational portion of his day to be a balanced approach of play and exploration. He was challenged in developmentally appropriate ways and continues to surprise us with knowledge he has gained from the teachers and curriculum there. This young 5’s program gave him the perfect start to his academic career and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. As teachers ourselves, we were looking for an educationally strong environment and we found that in Red Bell.

Our family could not be happier that we chose Red Bell Young Fives Program for our son this year! As a teacher in the profession for twenty years, I feel the Young Fives program has been a perfect transition from preschool into kindergarten. The teacher is exceptional and had great insight about her students. She knows what their strengths are and knows what they are ready to learn next. The children are actively learning while having fun! Our son, who tends to be shy and quiet, has totally blossomed in Miss Rebecca’s class. He loves going to school and has made wonderful friends. All of the staff is happy and very loving towards all the children! Red Bell’s Young Fives class is a great place for young children to learn and fall in love with school.

We have been pleased that our son has been able to spend the year getting a good introduction to the structure and timing of a day in the classroom, but in a fun and engaging way that made him excited for full-day kindergarten next year. I think he’s well prepared for school in the fall and he’s looking forward to being a kindergartener!
